Universal is a crypto wallet browser extension. We respect your privacy and collect only what’s necessary to make the product work.
- Data minimization: Your private keys and seed phrase are encrypted and stored locally on your device. We cannot access them.
- No tracking/sale: We do not sell your data. We do not track your browsing for advertising.
- Local settings: Language, currency, address type, network, aliases, and UI cache are stored in the browser’s extension storage to operate the app.
Data we may process
- Wallet data (local only): private keys, seed phrase, PSBTs, UTXOs, addresses, transactions, fee/network preferences. Never sent to our servers.
- Technical identifier: a locally generated device ID may be sent in API headers to keep requests consistent. It does not contain personal information.
- DApp interactions: sites requesting permissions, approvals, and actions you explicitly allow. You can revoke them at any time.
Network requests (necessary)
- To provide functionality (e.g., fee estimates, balances, network info), the extension queries public blockchain services. Only strictly necessary data is sent. A public address may be used to fetch balances/transactions. No private keys/seed are transmitted.
Browser permissions
- The extension uses permissions such as storage and page access to expose a provider for DApp interactions. Sensitive actions (signing/sending) always require your explicit approval and can be revoked.
Security
- Local vault encryption and password lock.
- Isolated injected provider with explicit approval for sensitive actions.
- No security measure is absolute; keep your seed offline and your device up to date.
Your choices and rights
- You can reset/delete local data in the extension or browser settings.
- You can revoke site permissions at any time.
- Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), you may request access, correction, deletion, and object to non‑essential processing where applicable.
